To "Human" is to Create

AI vs the Human Touch

Artificial intelligence is all the rage. It’s an up-and-coming process that most major corporations and brands are using to create content, images, and every other aspect of marketing. Is it worth it though?

The benefits of AI are great compared to the human aspect.

  • Doesn’t take sick days and works 24/7

  • Doesn’t need benefits (health insurance, vacation or PTO, etc.)

  • Can produce content almost instantly

  • A yearly premium will allow the user unlimited content

AI content creation is produced by what parameters are introduced, along with what specific subjects are focused upon. For instance, a marketing team wants to start a campaign on a new product; all that is needed is the product, pros/cons, the solutions the product provides, and everything else that would benefit the consumer.

Human content creation has been around since the first announcers of royalty. Again, is human intelligence worth it? The advantages of human-produced marketing material are much different than artificial intelligence.

  • Fresh and up-to-date on the latest trends

  • Can adhere to multiple demographics as well as target a specific audience

  • Has real-world experience

  • Morally, ethically, and socially sound

During the pandemic, many people were out of work, either laid off, furloughed or even turned to unemployment. Bringing companies to desperations of finding ways to stay relevant. Many businesses shut down due to a lack of resources, Stay at Home orders, and available consumers dealing with the same guidelines.

The solution was an AI generation of advertisements, a rush of emails we all pushed to spam, and random telemarketers (that spoke from a script) asking about our car’s extended warranty. Artificial Intelligence was a band-aid to help solve a temporary issue. Since the workforce has been back and the ability to have employees work remotely, those problems have been solved. Sure, there are still little wrinkles that need to be ironed out, but those are only at the company level.

The adaptability of the human intellect has always evolved. From the moment we discovered fire to when we sailed across the stars of space, homo-sapiens have learned to mold in the environment. It is our nature to find solutions to obstacles, improve the variables, and educate future generations. A great example of this is the airplane. One of the first mass-produced flying contraptions was started with a shotgun shell. Now we can fly millions of people and cargo around the world in one day without having to set off a small explosion.

Evolution has brought us to the greatest points of our lives, and let's be honest, it also has brought us to our worst. What it didn’t erase is the human element. Even though we state that human error is the cause of most faults, they become a learning moment. Improvisation and adaption are applied, and we carry on to be the best we can be.

Artificial creation is an amazing stand-in for the times when a human aspect isn’t required. It’s generic and lacks the personability that people are attracted to. Ask AI to describe your favorite pet, and record how much information the program is asking from you. Now, ask your neighbor that has met your pet, the same question of description.

Comparatively, if you want to save a few dollars for a human-operated robot to produce content for what you are passionate about, go for it. If you want a personable touch that can invoke emotion, the spark of thought, and a face to go with it all, stay human my friends.
